Maya is a veteran space engineer and CEO and co-owner of the Israeli private space company SPACECIALIST (which provides consulting and engineering services for space project and space mission insurance to various companies in Israel and worldwide).

 

Maya is among the few in Israel who hold expertise in satellite constellation design and mission analysis using STK simulation software, known as one of the leading tools for planning and performing space mission analyses. In her past, Maya was a GEO satellite engineer for Israeli communication satellites (Amos satellites) at Israel Aerospace Industries.

 

Maya is a graduate of the Technion, holding a B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion, and an M.E. in Systems Engineering. She is also a graduate of the International Space University (ISU SSP04).

 

In recent years, she served as Chief of Space Operations and Director at Sky and Space Company (SAS), and was responsible for the operation of the company's three demonstration satellites called Diamonds, aimed at demonstrating narrowband communication capabilities in a nanosatellite system, and for developing the operations of the company's future communication constellation.

 

Currently, she manages the space operations domain at SAS and is responsible for planning the future operations infrastructure and designing the company's satellite constellations. Among other things, she manages several projects as part of a joint work between SPACECIALIST and AYECKA (a veteran company producing satellite communication equipment solutions).

 

A few years ago, she founded the “My Space Academy", through which she launched an online course series called "Space Pioneers" on space engineering topics for teenagers, young adults, and adults, with no prior training required. The courses make accessible the vast knowledge she has accumulated over the years in planning, launching, and operating large and small satellites.

 

Maya gives lectures on various topics in the field of space technologies to different audiences of all ages.
